Master

The courses that lead to Master Diploma (M.Sc.) on "Chemistry and Technology of Materials" is co-organized by the Departments of Materials Science and Engineering and the Department of Chemistry, both of the University of Ioannina, in collaboration with the Technology College ("TEI") of Athens.

The curriculum lasts 2 years. It comprises courses in the first year and a Laboratory Thesis in the second year.

The official language of teaching is Greek. However, foreign prominent scientists are often invited to deliver lectures to the students in English.

The provided courses (in the 1st year) are as follows:

  1. Spectroscopy - spectroscopic and physiochemical techniques for materials characterization.
  2. Polymers and ceramics science and technology.
  3. Catalysis, catalytic processing and molecular materials.
  4. Physical, chemical and mechanical processing on materials, corrosion and phase transformation.
  5. Crystal growth, defects, mechanical and magnetic properties of materials.
  6. Science and technology of advanced materials.
  7. Micro- and nano-materials materials technology.
  8. Laboratory on materials technology and engineering.
  9. Laboratory of spectroscopy and crystallography.
  10. Laboratory on the Introduction of Materials Science and Technology.

Information about the Master courses is provided by the Secretary Ms. S. Stathara.
