Erasmus
European Union highly considers the significance young students interchange among the countries of the European Union (EU) and also other associated (to the EU) countries. The European Project ERASMUS, which will be shortly renamed and upgraded as Erasmus for all, encourages and financially supports carrying out a part of studies in a University (or Research Centre and Institution, or enterprise) abroad.
The period spent abroad can range between 3 and 12 months. Undergraduate students (after the forth semester of their studies) and postgraduate students (Master or Ph.D. candidates) are eligible to participate.
Erasmus project also offers possibility for Training. The Training period can range between 3 and 5 months.
Good knowledge of the language of the host country is an eligibility criterion of candidates. However, in countries with "less-spoken languages", intensive language courses are organized by the host institution in the framework of Erasmus project.
The financial support depends on the cost of living of the host country and it is adjusted in such a way as to anticipate an affordable stay in the foreign country.
If you are interested to carry out part of your studies or a training period in the University of Ioannina and particularly in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, please contact first the special ERASMUS office of your University and then the office of Public Relationships én the University of Ioannina, being in duty of Erasmus project, which is located in the Rectory Building (address: University of Ioannina, GR - 451 10 Ioannina, Greece).
